2 years old ~ Water Boy!!

It was a chilly November in 1993 when my mom & dad found out that they were expecting a me sometime in July of 1994.  Little did they know that I planned to arrive 6 weeks ahead of schedule. Dad and mom were so excited about me and anticipated my arrival each and every day.

Mommy's pregnancy was typical and basically uneventful.  She did a lot of yard saling and shopping to prepare for me.  I wasn't even born and I literally had everything!  The doctor's monitored my growth closely because of mommy's congenital birth defect ~ her double uterus (didelphic Bi-corn uterus).  They had to make sure I wasn't running out of room.  I was in mommy's right uterus and growing just fine.  The doctor's told mommy and daddy up front that I would have to be a c-section because mommy has 2 cervix's and birthcanals and each was too small to deliver me.

The pregnacy drug on for my parents...and finally in May 1994...mommy had an ultrasound and found out she was having me...a BOY!...Right after the appointment she went to find daddy and tell him the great news.  My dad knew from the beginning I would be a boy because that is what he really wanted!! Mom and Dad went back and forth on all kinds of names: Dylan Scott - daddy hated it, Scott Michael - daddy hated it but they both loved Christopher Scott.

In June, my mom was really pregnant but that didn't stop her from having fun.  Daddy and mommy would go out in the boat and for wave runner rides.  The life jacket barely would fit around my mom's tummy!  Boy, were those rides fun, bouncing up and done~ I loved the boat even in my mom's tummy!

Later in June, the doctor's became concerned...mommy's blood pressure was really high and I was getting really squished.  The doctor's were glad I made it this far...they had warned my mom of possible miscarriages and preterm labor due to her condition.  They put mommy on bed rest and had a visiting nurse care for her.  This didn't help!  Now, she was spilling protein and everything else.  They decided to admit mommy to the hospital.  Mommy was miserable and she couldn't even watch anything on TV because the OJ Simpson Murdur Story was taking place and the only thing to watch was his White Bronco being followed by cops! UGH!

A few days later, on a Saturday...the doctor came to see Mommy and said, we are going to weigh the baby in utero and deliver him tomorrow!  They weighed me and said I was over 6 pounds so Sunday morning at 3 am...they got mommy ready for surgery.  She took a shower and got all ready.  The next morning at 7 all the family arrived.  So many people were so excited to meet me.

At 8:30, we were in the operating room waiting now for the doctor who called and said he was stuck in traffic...UGH!  Mommy had a spinal and daddy was rubbing her cheeks and hair.  She was real scared but so excited.  Finally, the doctor arrived and at 8:56 am I made my appearance!  I cried and cried, but not as much as my mom and dad.  I have never seen two people so happy to have a baby boy.  June 26, 1994 was the date of my arrival!

I was named Christopher Scott Rabush and weighed in at 6lbs. 12 oz. and 19 1/4 inches.  I had dark brown hair and blue gray eyes!  I also had a little strawberry birthmark on my arm the shape of a heart!  They loved me so much and we had lots of visitors, but my poor mom was so sick from all the medicines.  She was vomiting all over and hit daddy in the face.  The nurses let him take a shower to clean up.  Pretty gross...huh?

Well, 3 days later my parents got to take me home.  Our home was really nice and there was a big sign out front that said "ITS A BOY!"  My dads good friend John Forrest put it up there and he also put a sign at my pop pop Mike's house that said "MIKES A GRANDPOP!"

The first week home was a whirl wind of visitors, everyone seemed to like me a lot especially my sis...Aunt Chrissy.  She would come to be my best friend for the first few years of my life.
